*** ONE-OF-A-KIND *** These vintage Kendo jackets were made in Japan in the mid to late 20th century of indigo-dyed Japanese cotton. Originally worn when practicing Kendo, a Japanese sport of swordsmanship using wooden swords, they were intended to protect the wearer. Hence they are very well made from a heavy cotton, which is strong yet soft. They now have a beautiful patina including natural fading of the indigo from wear & wash. We love them as a light summer jacket paired with lighter denim, whites & creams or other colors. Please note - these jackets are one size fits all and run small; best for people 5' 10" and under.
