Southeastern Turkey Spice Set

We decided to put together a set of spices from Southeastern Turkey that we love on our travels to Gaziantep when we visit the Sabah workshop. In this set you'll find black Urfa chili, cured sumac and Euphrates Mint. 

 

Black Urfa Chili
In southeastern Turkey, you'll find black Urfa chili on almost every table. It's delicious on kebabs and other grilled meats and veggies, cooked into stews and chilis! 
Cured Sumac 
Cured Sumac grows wild around Gaziantep, Turkey, where instead of being dried, it’s chopped and packed in salt to preserve it. It has a bright, sour, salty and slightly fermented flavor, and is one of our most popular spices among professional chefs and home cooks alike. Swap it for lemon juice in any recipe or use to add character and brightness to salads, fish, meat or dips!
Euphrates Mint
This Euphrates Mint grows along the banks of the Euphrates River in southern Turkey, one of the oldest agricultural areas in the world. Makes a beautiful mint tea or you can add to pesto, chutneys, or curries!
